- Plants 20–40 cm tall.
- Leaves
- Basal leaves 3–6, produced after flowering, up to 20 cm long and 1–2 mm wide, subsclerophyllous. Cauline leaves 4–8, closely sheathing, up to 2 cm long, acuminate.
- Inflorescences
- Inflorescence laxly 2–8-flowered, 3–8 cm long.
- Bracts
- Bracts dry, not as long as the flowers, ovate, acuminate.
- Flowers
- Flowers pinkish-mauve to white, rarely blue.
- Calyx
- Dorsal sepal galeate; galea erect, 5–7 mm tall, 4 mm wide and 4 mm deep, ovate, acute. Lateral sepals patent, 6–8 mm long, narrowly oblong-ovate, acute.
- Spur
- Spur horizontal at the base, often gradually ascending, 3–4 mm long, cylindrical or somewhat laterally flattened.
- Corolla
- Petals with a basal, ovate anticous lobe 1–1.5 mm wide; petal limb c. 5.5 mm long, lorate, falcately curved beside the anther, included within the galea, the apex acutely bifid.
- Labellum
- Lip 8–10 mm long, ovate, deeply dissected, the margins curved upwards.
- Anthers
- Anther horizontal, c. 1.5 mm long.
- Rostellum
- Rostellum lateral lobes canaliculate, erect, 1–1.5 mm tall.
- Stigma
- Stigma horizontal, 0.6 mm tall.
- Ovary
- Ovary 5–15 mm long.
