    Habit
    Climbing woody vine 1.8–6 m tall.
    Leaves
    Leaflets 6–13 on each side of the rachis, 1.2–4.5 × 0.7–1.8 cm, the leaflets generally increase proportionally in size distally along the rachis.
    Indumentum
    Indumentum on vegetative portions usually sparse, more appressed.
    Fruits
    Pods 2.2–4.5(6) × 0.8–1.3 cm.
    Distribution
    Also in Senegal, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Sudan, Uganda, Tanzania, Congo and Angola; and in Bolivia, Brazil, Venezuela and New Caledonia.
    Ecology
    In streamside thickets, mushitu fringes and in coastal bush; 0–1500 m.
