    Habit
    Dwarf succulent herb, probably perennial; stem woody and 3.5–4 mm thick at the base, ascending, branches 6–8 cm long with crowded nodes 2–3 mm apart.
    Leaves
    Leaves alternate, fleshy, narrowly elliptic-oblong, flat, 6–7 mm long, 2–2.7 mm wide, acute;axillary hairs conspicuous in shaggy tufts exceeding the internodes, golden, the hairs broadened at the base and some joined into a pair of crescent-shaped white scales.
    Inflorescences
    Flowers in terminal clusters of 2–3, encircled by 8 involucral leaves enclosing a copious mass of woolly hairs; involucral leaves scarcely larger than the foliar leaves.
    Flowers
    Sepals reddish, 4–5 mm long, rounded on the back, subacute with a small apical crest; petals 5, yellow, ovate, 3.5 mm long, obtuse or apiculate; stamens 12–15; stigma 4-branched.
    Fruits
    Capsule 5–6 mm high, dehiscing in the middle, base deeply infundibuliform, lid a rounded cone slightly wider than high; seeds 0.75 mm long, black, glossy, the testa cells small, elliptic, convex, with or without a central tubercle.
    Habitat
    Dry grassland, in stony or rocky places; 1950–2250 m
