    Habit
    Succulent ephemeral; stems ascending, branching slightly above the base, up to 10 cm high, pale pinkish-brown.
    Leaves
    Leaves alternate, crowded on short internodes, very fleshy, elliptic to narrowly oblong, 2.5–5 mm long, 1.5–1.8 mm wide, obtuse; axillary hairs many, woolly, longer than the internodes.
    Inflorescences
    Flowers in terminal clusters of 2–3 or more, surrounded by ± 6 involucral leaves and dense hairs 3–4 mm long, involucral leaves resembling the stem leaves.
    Flowers
    Sepals broadly ovate, 2.7–3 mm long, rounded on the back, obtuse, the inner lightly keeled and crested at the tip; petals 5, pink or carmine, 3.5–4 mm long, ± free, obovate-oblong, concave, rounded; stamens 17–19; stigma 4-branched.
    Fruits
    Capsule 2.4 mm high, dehiscing near the middle, lid dome-shaped, as wide as high; seeds reniform, 0.45 mm long, brown, finally with a silvery-grey iridescent sheen, testa cells jigsaw-shaped, almost flat.
    Habitat
    Sandy open patches in deciduous bushland on coral and between coastal dunes;near sea level
