    Habit
    Tree to 7 m tall.
    Leaves
    Leaves 3-pinnate, leaflets narrowly ovate, to 7 × 3 cm, terminal up to 8.5 cm.
    Flowers
    Flowers in narrow few-flowered terminal panicles.
    Calyx
    Calyx 1.8–4 cm long.
    Corolla
    Corolla (7.2–)8–13.5(–15) cm long, tube infundibuliform, 6–11 cm long, lobes elliptic or broadly so, to 4 × 3 cm, with crenulate margin.
    Fruits
    Fruit smooth, linear, cylindrical, often twisted, 35–65 × 1–1.5 cm.
    Note
    Native of South East Asia, China, Taiwan. No material has been seen from East Africa, but the species has been cultivated in Zimbabwe.
