    General Description
    Stem climbing. Cataphylls large, triangular-lanceolate, long-acute, fibrose-dilacerated. LEAVES: Petiole semi-terete, canaliculate adaxially, up to 1.5 m long. Leaf blade coriaceous-herbaceous, elongate-cordiform, gradually narrowed towards the apex, narrowed into an acute cusp 2 - 2.5 cm long at the very tip, rounded at the base, in total up to 90 cm long, 70 cm wide; anterior lobe ca. twice as long as posterior lobes, primary lateral veins 6 - 8, prominulent or somewhat impressed adaxially, abaxially distinctly prominent, joined by reticulated and finer veins in between them, distally running into a collective vein 4 - 8 mm distant from the margin; posterior lobes rounded, separated by an obtuse, broad sinus, basal ribs denuded in the sinus for 6 - 8 cm or more. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle terete, 60 - 80 cm long, at the base ca. 1.5 cm thick, attenuated upwards. Spathe narrowly oblong, sub-acuminate at the apex, 15 - 20 cm long, 4 - 6 cm wide. Spadix brown-purple, with a 1.5 cm long stipe that is somewhat adnate to the spathe, narrowly cylindric, rounded-obtuse at the apex, 20 - 30 cm long, and longer in fruit, 1 - 2 cm thick and attenuate upwards. Tepals broadly oblong, obtuse. Pistils subovoid, crowned with a rounded, somewhat elevated stigma.
