    Lamina oblong-lanceolate, 30–85 cm long, 25–30 cm wide, bipinnatifid.

    Pinnae narrowly oblong, 10–21 cm long, 1–2.5 cm wide, attenuate, deeply to ± shallowly lobed; lobes ovate, quadrate or narrowly oblong, 6–17 mm long, 4–7 mm wide, entirely glabrous to sparsely or densely pubescent beneath and often with distinct red glands and clathrate scales on costae and costulae beneath very evident or sparse or often absent; veins finely raised beneath Fronds spaced up to 12(–15) cm apart, 0.7–2.4 m tall

    Sori round at first and close but usually eventually coalescing to form a u-shaped line around the sinuses in a very characteristic manner; indusium glabrous to densely pilose and sometimes with glands
