    Habit
    Annual. Culms prostrate; 10-90 cm long; rooting from lower nodes. Ligule an eciliate membrane. Leaf-blades flaccid.

    Inflorescence a panicle with branches tipped by a raceme. Panicle open. Racemes bearing a triad of spikelets. Rhachis obsolete. Raceme-bases filiform. Spikelets in threes. Fertile spikelets sessile; 1 in the cluster. Companion sterile spikelets pedicelled; 2 in the cluster. Pedicels oblong.

Lemma apex lobed; 2 -fid; incised 0.4 of lemma length; awned; 1 -awned. Principal lemma awn from a sinus; geniculate. Palea absent or minute.

    Lodicules absent. Anthers 2.
