    Habit
    Annual herb, green or purple, 0.3–1.5 m tall
    Leaves
    Leaves petiolate, broadly ovate to rotund, 50–130 × 30–100 mm, deeply toothed, laciniate or crisped
    Inflorescences
    Inflorescence of lax one-sided raceme-like thyrses with verticils 2-flowered
    Calyx
    Calyx campanulate, 3 mm long in flower, accrescent to 11 mm long in fruit, 2-lipped with posterior lip 3-toothed, anterior 2-toothed
    Corolla
    Corolla 3–4 mm long, very weakly 2-lipped with 5 equal lobes
    Stamens
    Stamens 4, divergent.
