    Fertile lemma elliptic (1), or oblong (4); membranous; keeled; 5 -veined (2), or 7 -veined (3), or 8-9 -veined (2), or 10-11 -veined (1). Lemma midvein without distinctive roughness (2), or scabrous (3). Lemma lateral veins without ribs (2), or ribbed (3). Lemma surface pilose (3), or villous (2); with simple hairs (2), or tubercle-based hairs (3). Lemma apex obtuse (1), or acute (1), or acuminate (3). Palea keels eciliate (3), or ciliate (2). Palea surface glabrous (2), or pilose (3).
    Flowers
    Lodicules 2; fleshy (3/3). Anthers 2 (3), or 3 (2).
    Fruits
    Caryopsis with adherent pericarp (3/3); linear (3/3); isodiametric (3/3); biconvex (3/3). Embryo 0.5 length of caryopsis. Hilum punctiform (3/3).
