Habit
Perennial woody herb 5–40 cm high, with taproot up to 1 cm thick; stems densely divaricately branched, the branches whitish- or silvery‑tomentose
Leaves
Leaves aromatic (like curry), silvery or white, sessile, lanceolate, 0.5–1.5 cm long, 0.5–4.5 mm wide, base clasping the stem, acute, tomentose
Inflorescences
Capitula sessile, often 5–9 congested at the end of the branches; involucre 2.5–3 mm long; phyllaries ovate, pale yellow, 1.5–3 mm long
Florets
Florets yellow, (2–)3–5 female, 4–7 bisexual, 2.5–3.2 mm long
Fruits
Achenes dark brown, narrowly obovoid, c. 0.8 x 0.3 mm, sparsely papillose, otherwise glabrous; pappus white, 1.8–2.5 mm long.

N1–3; C1; S2; Ethiopia, Yemen
Ecology
Altitude range 150–1500 m.
