    Leaves cordate to linear, sometimes petiolate, often spotted or sometimes with purple papillae
    Scape
    Scape glabrous, ± curved
    Inflorescences
    Inflorescence a lax to dense raceme; pedicels erect to ascending; bracts up to 3 mm., sometimes emarginate to 2-partite
    Perianth
    Perianth-segments free or united at the base, reflexed, greenish to purple
    Filaments
    Filaments united with the perianth-segments for 0.5-2 mm.
    Ovary
    Ovary stipitate and conical or obconical, 3-locular, with 2 ovules per locule
    Fruits
    Capsule ovoid to subglobose, sometimes a schizocarp
    Seeds
    Seeds black, subglobose.
