Glumes persistent; similar; exceeding apex of florets; firmer than fertile lemma. Lower glume elliptic; 5.4-5.6 mm long; 1 length of upper glume; coriaceous; 1-keeled; 1 -veined. Lower glume primary vein scabrous. Lower glume lateral veins absent. Lower glume apex acute. Upper glume elliptic; 5.2-5.3 mm long; 1.8-2.3 length of adjacent fertile lemma; coriaceous; 1-keeled; 1 -veined. Upper glume primary vein scabrous. Upper glume lateral veins absent. Upper glume apex acute.
    Florets
Fertile lemma oblong; 2.4-3 mm long; hyaline; 3 -veined. Lemma surface scaberulous; rough above. Lemma apex obtuse; pubescent. Palea 2.3-3.8 mm long; 2 -veined. Apical sterile florets 1 in number; rudimentary.
