Morphology General Habit
Shrub or small tree, up to 8 m. tall; branches with straight spines up to 2.5 cm. long.
Morphology Leaves
Leaf-blades elliptic-ovate or -oblong, apex shortly acuminate, base obtuse to rounded, papyraceous to subcoriaceous, glabrous, dark green and glossy, rather coarsely serrate-crenate, 6–16 cm. long, 3–6 cm. broad; lateral nerves 4–6 pairs, tertiary ones ± parallel, rather obvious on both faces, the proper reticulation being ± obscure; petiole 0.4–1 cm. long.

Flowers solitary, white and somewhat waxy, much resembling those of O. spinosa, on a peduncle 1–2 cm. long.
