    Annual. Culms decumbent; 12-15 cm long. Leaf-sheaths glabrous on surface; outer margin hairy. Ligule a fringe of hairs. Leaf-blades 2-3 cm long; 2.5-3 mm wide. Leaf-blade surface scabrous; rough on both sides. Leaf-blade margins scabrous.

    Inflorescence a panicle. Panicle open; ovate; 4-4.5 cm long; bearing few spikelets. Primary panicle branches ascending, or spreading; 1-2.5 cm long. Panicle branches capillary; smooth. Spikelets solitary. Fertile spikelets pedicelled. Pedicels linear.
