    Annual. Culms 2-7 cm long. Culm-internodes smooth; distally glabrous. Leaf-sheaths smooth; glabrous on surface. Ligule an eciliate membrane; 0.6-1.5 mm long. Leaf-blades flat, or conduplicate; 0.6-1.3 mm wide. Leaf-blade surface scaberulous.

    Inflorescence a panicle. Panicle spiciform; lanceolate, or oblong; 0.5-1.4 cm long; 0.4-0.5 cm wide. Panicle branches scabrous. Spikelets solitary. Fertile spikelets pedicelled. Pedicels oblong; 0.2 mm long.

Upper glume lateral veins absent. Upper glume surface asperulous. Upper glume margins ciliolate. Upper glume apex dentate; 2 -fid; awned; 1 -awned. Upper glume awn 2-3 mm long.

    Fertile lemma oblong; 0.8-1.1 mm long; hyaline; shiny; without keel; 5 -veined. Lemma lateral veins obscure. Lemma apex muticous. Palea 1 length of lemma; hyaline; 2 -veined.

    Caryopsis with adherent pericarp.
