    Habit
    Perennial. Rhizomes elongated. Culms decumbent; 5-25 cm long. Lateral branches lacking, or sparse. Leaves cauline. Ligule a fringe of hairs. Leaf-blades flat, or involute; 4-10 cm long; 1-2 mm wide; stiff. Leaf-blade apex pungent.
    Inflorescences
    Inflorescence composed of racemes. Racemes 1; single; multilateral; 2-5 cm long. Spikelets appressed; solitary. Fertile spikelets pedicelled. Pedicels linear; flattened; 1-2 mm long.

    Spikelets comprising 1 fertile florets; without rhachilla extension. Spikelets elliptic; laterally compressed; 4 mm long; falling entire.
