    Native of Mexico, has been grown as a garden ornamental,
    Habit
    Rhizomatous perennial to 1 m or so, with a mixture of fine and coarser glandular hairs on the stems.
    Leaves
    Leaves petiolate, ovate to sagittate or distinctly 2-lobed at base, 4–10 × 1.5–6 cm, crenulate, pubescent.
    Bracts
    Bracts resembling small leaves; verticils 2flowered.
    Calyx
    Calyx campanulate, 10–15 mm long, with mixed hairs.
    Corolla
    Corolla strong blue, 4.5–5.5 cm long; tube 2–2.5 cm long; anterior lip broad, ± as long as posterior.
