In lightly grazed montane grassland; 1700–1950 m
Conservation
Likely to be threatened, known only from 3 collections, and the habitat of the most recent collection is currently lightly grazed and being planted with pine. Possibly critically endangered.
Note
This is the only species of section Stachyobotrys Benth. in tropical Africa.
