    Diagnostic
    Closely related to I. schliebenii, but the leaflets are more numerous (5–7) and wider in proportion to their length (up to 15 mm. long and 8 mm. wide), the peduncle is up to 4.5 cm. long, the standard is not pointed, the keel is not rostrate, and the stamens are 4 mm. long.
    Habitat
    Upland grassland; 1600–2100 m.; rainfall 850–1000 mm.
