    Habit
    A more or less procumbent perennial herb, sometimes rooting at the nodes, much resembling I. nummulariïfolia.
    Corolla
    Beside the differences shown in the key the corolla is usually rather larger and less caducous.
    Leaves
    Leaf-blades ovate, elliptic or most often oblong-elliptic, usually cordate at the base, sometimes truncate or rounded.
    Indumentum
    Hairs on stems and inflorescence-rhachis nearly always crisped, spreading at the tips.
