    Habit
    Prostrate short-lived perennial, everywhere covered by a rather dense appressed greyish indumentum.
    Leaves
    Leaves 3–5-foliolate; stipules subulate, stiffly erect, up to 2 mm. long; rhachis, including a petiole of up to 10 mm., up to 13 mm. long, not, or but shortly, prolonged beyond the lateral leaflets; leaflets linear-lanceolate, the terminal up to 30 mm. long and 2.5 mm. wide, the lateral usually smaller.
    Inflorescences
    Racemes many-flowered, up to 35 mm. long, including a peduncle of up to 7 mm.; bracts ± 1 mm. long, very caducous; pedicels under 1 mm. long, reflexed in fruit.
    Calyx
    Calyx deeply divided into subulate lobes, 4 mm. long.
    Corolla
    Corolla silvery outside, 4.5 mm. long.
    Stamens
    Stamens 4–4.5 mm. long.
    Style
    Style rather persistent, ± 3 mm. long, bent above the middle.
    Fruits
    Pod curved, flat, swollen above the 3–5 seeds but without a lateral ridge, up to 11 mm. long, 2 mm. wide, 0.9 mm. thick; endocarp not mottled.
    Seeds
    Seeds orange, subquadrate, smooth or slightly corrugated.
    Habitat
    Sand at high tide-mark; rainfall ± 1000 mm.
