    Habit
    Annual, up to 45 cm. tall; medifixed hairs on the stems stiffly curved, spreading at the tips.
    Leaves
    Leaves simple; stipules lanceolate-subulate, up to 7 mm. long; petiole up to 1 mm. long; blade lanceolate, up to 6 cm. long and 9 mm. wide, sparsely pilose above, crisped strigose beneath.
    Inflorescences
    Racemes 5–15-flowered, 3–13 cm. long, including a peduncle 1–2 cm.; bracts up to 2 mm. long; pedicels up to 4 mm. long, rigidly spreading in fruit.
    Calyx
    Calyx ± 2 mm. long, divided to the middle.
    Stamens
    Stamens 3.5–4 mm. long.
    Fruits
    Pod almost straight, flattened, 25–30 mm. long, ±1.1 mm. wide and 0.5 mm. thick, crisped strigulose, 17–21-seeded.
    Habitat
    Short grassland on sandy soils; 800–1400 m.; rainfall 600–1000 mm.
