    Differs from I. fulgens Bak. in the following respects.
    Leaves
    Leaflets 7–15, becoming rather rigid, up to 3 cm. long and 2 cm. wide, but often much smaller and narrower, rounded, truncate or cordate at the base, densely or sparsely silky pubescent on both surfaces, conspicuously darker above than beneath.
    Corolla
    Standard white puberulent outside, like the keel, rounded or truncate at the apex.
    Stamens
    Stamens 9–11 mm. long.
    Fruits
    Pods cylindrical, up to 5 or 6 cm. long, ± 3 mm. wide; endocarp densely spotted.
    Seeds
    Seeds 6–10, widely separated, pitted.
    Habitat
    Not recorded; 150 m.; rainfall ± 1100 mm.
