    Diagnostic
    Differs from I. hermannioïdes in the branches being strictly prostrate, the petioles shorter (up to 4 mm. long), the leaflets shorter (up to 4 cm. long and 2.7 cm. wide), cordate, truncate or broadly cuneate at the base, and the inflorescence occasionally branched, exceeding the subtending leaf, up to 14 cm. long, including a peduncle of up to 4 cm.
    Habitat
    Brachystegia, Uapaca woodland on grey sandy soil; ± 1000 m.; rainfall ± 1100 mm.
