    Annual herb.
    Stem
    Stems suberect, weak, few-branched, often rooting at the lower nodes, glabrous below, ± pilose above.
    Leaves
    Leaves petiolate; leaflets 6–13 × 3–7 mm, cuneate-oblanceolate, truncate or rounded at the apex, glabrous or weakly pilose at the base and on the lower surface, the lateral nerves c. 15 on each side, at c. 20º to the midrib; petioles 5–7 mm long, adnate to the stem-sheathing stipules for all their length; stipules with free parts triangular, ending in a fine subulate point.

    Inflorescence ± oblong, many-flowered; peduncle 3–6 cm long, pilose towards the top; bracts c. 0.5 mm long, narrow.
    Flowers
    Flowers with pedicels 1–2 mm long, pilose, not reflexed in fruit.
    Calyx
    Calyx pilose; tube c. 1.8 mm long, 11-nerved; teeth subulate.
    Corolla
    Corolla purple; standard 4–5 mm long, oblong-elliptic.
    Stamens
    Stamens c. 3.5 mm long.
    Pistil
    Ovary 2-ovulate; style 2 mm long, persistent.
    Fruits
    Pod oblong, glabrous, usually 2-seeded.
    Seeds
    Seeds 1.3 × 1 mm, brown.
