    Erect suffrutex herb 0.5–1.5 m tall.

    Leaves discolorous, ovate in outline, 10–16 × 2–12 cm, apex obtuse, acute or rounded, base rounded, truncate or cordate, margins serrate, shallowly 3–5-lobed to deeply (2)3–5-fid, shortly stellate-hispid above and below, the leaf surface scabrid; petiole 0.5–3 cm long, pubescent; stipules linear, 3–6 × 0.2–0.3 mm, pubescent or hispid
    Flowers
    Flowers solitary in upper leaf axils and/or in terminal corymbs; pedicel 2–4 cm long, articulated in the upper half, densely stellate-pubescent; epicalyx of 8 linear bracts, 2 × 0.5 mm, hispid and/or stellate-pubescent; calyx lobes narrowly triangular-acuminate, 8–10 × 2 mm, stellate-pubescent inside and outside

    Corolla yellow, 2–5.5 cm long, sparsely stellate-pubescent outside, glabrous inside.
    Stamens
    Staminal column 1.5 cm long; filaments 3 mm long; exserted part of styles 6–13 mm long, branches densely pilose
    Fruits
    Capsule globose, 1–1.3 cm long, 0.7–1 cm diameter, stellate-tomentose, the hairs along the sutures simple and/or spreading.
    Seeds
    Seeds brown, triangular, 2 × 2 mm, tuberculate.
