    Habit
    Erect herb to 80 cm.
    Leaves
    Leaves ovate to lanceolate, 1–5 × 0.5–3 cm ide, unlobed, apex rounded, base cordate, truncate or rounded, margin crenate-serrate, densely stellatetomentose to stellate-hispid above and below.
    Petiole
    Petiole 3–12 mm long, stellate-tomentose to stellate-hispid; stipules linear to filiform, 3–6 × 0.3–0.5 mm, tomentose to hispid
    Flowers
    Flowers solitary in leaf axils or in a terminal raceme; pedicel 0.5–4 cm long, articulated above the middle, stellate-tomentose to stellate-hispid; epicalyx of 8–11 linear bracts 3–5 × 0.5–1 mm, stellate-pubescent or stellate-hispid; calyx lobes 4–7 × 1–2 mm, fused in the lower half, acuminate, densely stellate-hispid
    Corolla
    Corolla red, 7–12 mm long, stellate-hispid on the outside, glabrous inside.
    Stamens
    Staminal tube ± 5 mm long; filaments 0.5 mm long; exserted part of styles 1–2 mm long, glabrous
    Fruits
    Capsule spherical, 5–10 mm in diameter, glabrescent.

    Seeds reniform, black, 2–3 × 1.5–2 mm, lanate, the hairs 5–8 mm long
