- Habit
- Perennial herb or shrublet, up to 1 m. high; stems densely stellate-tomentose.
- Leaves
- Leaf-lamina 1–5 × 1–4 cm., broadly ovate to subreniform, densley stellate-tomentose, apex rounded, margin irregularly crenate, base truncate to cordate 7-nerved; petiole 3–20 mm. long; stipules c. 2 mm. long, subulate.
- Flowers
- Flowers c. 2·5 cm. in diam., pale yellow or orange-yellow, solitary, axillary; peduncle 8–25 mm. long, densely stellate-tomentose, articulated near the middle.
- Epicalyx
- Epicalyx of c. 10 bracts; bracts 3–7 mm. long, acicular to subulate.
- Calyx
- Calyx up to 11 mm. long, stellate-tomentose; lobes 7–11 × 2–4 mm., narrowly elliptic to lanceolate.
- Corolla
- Petals 10–15 mm. long, obovate, glabrous.
- Stamens
- Staminal tube 10 mm. long; anthers spirally arranged; free parts of filaments 1 mm. long.
