Habit
Tree up to 30 m. tall; bark rough, brownish black, deeply fissured.
Leaves
Leaflets 18–40, serrate, narrowly oblong or oblong-lanceolate, up to 20 × 4 cm., apex acuminate, base obliquely rounded, very asymmetric; midrib often reddish; proximal lateral nerves on lower surface with minute deltate axillary pockets (domatia) with minute apical hairs.
Inflorescences
Inflorescence pendulous, up to 90 cm. long.
Fruits
Capsule larger and coarser than in T. ciliata ± 2.5 cm. long; valves smooth or sometimes with small, inconspicuous lenticels.
