- Habit
- Tree up to 30 m. tall; bark rough, brownish black, deeply fissured.
- Leaves
- Leaflets 18–40, serrate, narrowly oblong or oblong-lanceolate, up to 20 × 4 cm., apex acuminate, base obliquely rounded, very asymmetric; midrib often reddish; proximal lateral nerves on lower surface with minute deltate axillary pockets (domatia) with minute apical hairs.

- Inflorescence pendulous, up to 90 cm. long.
- Fruits
- Capsule larger and coarser than in T. ciliata ± 2.5 cm. long; valves smooth or sometimes with small, inconspicuous lenticels.
