General Description

A terrestrial herb with a stout underground rhizome, 3-4 mm in diameter, bearing many long roots, 1-1.5 mm in diameter. Stems erect, s~veralcm apart on the rhizome, 1-5.5 cm long, covered by two sheaths, bifoliate at the apex. Leaves prostrate on the substrate, subcircular to obovate or broadly ovate, obtuse or shortly apiculate, 7-13 cm long, 5-11.7 cm wide, dark green and heavily spotted with blackish maroon above. Inflorescence oneflowere. d, ebracteate. Flower yellow marked with maroon stripes on the sepals and petals and spots on the lip, the staminode dark maroon; pedicel glabrous, 4-6 cm long; ovary curved, 1-1.5 cm long, .sparsely pubescent on the ridges. Dorsal sepal concave, curved forwards, ovate, obtuse or shortlyapiculate, 1.9-4.4 cm long, 1.8-4 cm wide, papillate-ciliate and shortly hairy on veins on outer surface; synsepal elliptic-ovate, obtuse or shorp.y bifid, 2.4-3.8 cm long, 1.62.2 cm wide, papillate-ciliate. Petals curved forwards and enfolding the lip, obliquely oblong-lanceolate, acute, 3-4.2 cm long, 1.5-2.2 cm wide, shortly ciliate and shortly pubescent on the veins on the outer surface. Lip saccate but dorsiventrally flattened, circular from above and with a circular mouth, 2.8-3 cm long, strongly warted on the front face. Column 0.8-1 cm long; staminode subquadrate, 8-9 mm long and wide, papillose.
