    Habit
    Terrestrial herb perennating by testicular tubers. Plants erect, slender, 35–60 cm tall.
    Leaves
    Cauline leaves 3–6, sheathing at the base with a free narrowly elliptic to lanceolate blade 4–7 cm long; all leaves about the same size, drying grey-black while the inflorescence dries pale creamy-brown.
    Inflorescences
    Inflorescence lax, spotted mauve, 20–30 cm long, 25–45-flowered.
    Bracts
    Floral bracts about as long as the ovaries, lanceolate to narrowly lanceolate, acuminate, twisted.
    Flowers
    Flowers pale purple to mauve.
    Calyx
    Dorsal sepal spathulate; galea 6.5–9.5 mm tall, 3–4.5 mm wide and c. 2 mm deep, elliptic-oblong, acute. Lateral sepals 6–9 mm long, oblique, narrowly oblong, acute; apiculi 0.5–1 mm long.
    Spur
    Spur from base of galea, straight, 6–8 mm long, laterally flattened and with the upper and lower margins parallel, (2)3–3.5 mm apart.
    Corolla
    Petals 5.5–6 × 1.5–2.5 mm, falcate, acute, attached to the rostellum by a long keel.
    Labellum
    Lip 5–7 mm long, narrowly elliptic, rounded to subacute, upper surface rounded and papillate.
    Rostellum
    Rostellum c. 2 mm tall, anther c. 3 mm long.
    Stigma
    Stigma horizontal and almost square.
