    Habit
    Woody climber or occasionally described as prostrate; the younger stems pilose becoming more or less glabrous with age, longitudinally ridged and furrowed.
    Leaves
    Leaves imparipinnate with usually 5 leaflets; leaflets ovate to lanceolate-ovate, often strongly asymmetric, curved in upper part (especially the terminal leaflet), sometimes lobed, irregularly and unequally dentate to almost entire, glabrous on upper surface or with scattered pubescence on the veins, shortly pilose or pubescent on the veins beneath.
    Inflorescences
    Inflorescences 1- to many-flowered; pedicels 1–2 cm. long; buds broadly ovoid to spherical, with yellow indumentum.
    Calyx
    Sepals 1.7–2 cm. long, cream, pilose to sparsely pilose outside, more densely so along the edges and inside.
