    Habit
    Perennial herb with erect stems, up to 12 dm. tall, somewhat branched into rather loose inflorescences.
    Leaves
    Basal leaves trifoliolate; leaflets broadly ovate in general outline, more or less distinctly trilobed, on the lateral leaflets the lobing asymmetric, 7–8 cm. long, 6–6.5 cm. broad, long adpressed hairs on both surfaces, ciliate at the margins; petiole up to 4 dm. long.
    Calyx
    Sepals reflexed, sparsely hairy on the outer surface, glabrous on the inner surface.
    Corolla
    Petals 5, yellow, up to 5 mm. long.
    Fruits
    Achenes in a spherical head, persistent beak short, hooked, margin bordered, sides smooth, flat.

    Habitat
    Shady places near streams in upland evergreen bushland, 1800–2200 m.
    Distribution
    U2 endemic on Ruwenzori and in the Virunga Mts.
