Leaf-sheaths longer than adjacent culm internode; pubescent; outer margin hairy. Ligule a fringe of hairs. Leaf-blade base broadly rounded. Leaf-blades lanceolate; 1.5-3 cm long; 3-6 mm wide; stiff; glaucous. Leaf-blade surface smooth; glabrous. Leaf-blade apex acute.

    Inflorescence a panicle. Panicle open; ovate; 1.5-4 cm long; contracted about primary branches. Primary panicle branches ascending; 1-2 cm long. Spikelets solitary. Fertile spikelets pedicelled. Pedicels 3-4 mm long.
