    Perennial. Culms 80-100 cm long; 1.5-3 mm diam.; 4-5 -noded. Leaves basal and cauline. Ligule an eciliate membrane; 1-1.5 mm long; truncate. Leaf-blades 10-20 cm long; 6-18 mm wide. Leaf-blade apex attenuate.
    Inflorescences
    Inflorescence composed of racemes. Peduncle pilose above. Racemes 1; single; drooping; bilateral; 10-15 cm long. Rhachis pilose on surface. Spikelet packing broadside to rhachis; lax. Spikelets in pairs. Fertile spikelets sessile; 2 in the cluster.
