    Habit
    Small tree sometimes reaching 10 m. in height, with white or pink flowers.
    Leaves
    Closely resembles D. rotundifolia in herbarium material but leaves usually rather larger, often c. 20 cm. in diam. and pubescent instead of tomentellous below with a minutely reticulate pattern of veinlets visible between the hairs at a magnification of × 10.
    Ovary
    Ovary not tomentose but covered with minute brown clavate papillae (the most important difference between the two species).
