    General Description
    Stem short. LEAVES: Petiole one sixth to one quarter as long as leaf blade, 13 cm long, with 1 cm long geniculum. Leaf blade elongate-lanceolate, long- and gradually acuminate towards the apex, obtuse at the base, 50 cm long, 5 - 8 cm wide, most primary lateral veins remote from one another, patent, joined by a collective vein somewhat distant (one sixth of the blade's half-width) from the margin. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle slightly less than half to nearly three times longer than petiole, 20 - 40 cm long. Spathe linear-lanceolate, acuminate, at the base very long-decurrent. Spadix shortly (1 cm long) stipitate, about one third longer than the spathe, 10 cm long.
