    General Description
    Habit unknown; internodes short, ca. 2.5 cm long; cataphylls lanceolate, ultimately decomposing into fibers, brownish, persistent. LEAVES erect-spreading; petiole ca. 45 cm long, terete; geniculum ca. 2 cm long, drying darker than petiole; blades trilobed, lobed to 8-10 cm from the base, chartaceous, 26-34[10-18] x 30-36[8-15] cm, green above, yellowish or whitish green below, drying light brown both surfaces, semiglossy on both sides, white linear raphides conspicuous on both surfaces, base truncate; central lobe oblong-lanceolate, 20-30 x 10-16 cm, apex acuminate; midrib raised above, angled, raised below, rounded; primary lateral veins 5-8 per side, straight, slightly raised above, rounded, raised below, rounded, departing midrib at 40-50°; tertiary veins less conspicuous; collective veins arising from the first or second pair of primary lateral veins, 2-4 mm from the margin, sunken above, prominulous below; lateral lobes spreading, 80-90° from central lobe, [4-7]16-22 cm x [1.5-5.0]8-13 cm, apex broadly rounded, inner margin straight to weakly concave (weakly convex), outer margin convex; basal veins 4-5 pairs, joined for 3.5-4.5 cm; posterior ribs straight, 85-90° from midrib, naked for up to 2 cm. INFLORESCENCE erect; peduncle 24-36 cm x 4-6 mm, shorter than petiole; spathe yellowish green, lanceolate, 10-12 x 1.0-2.8 cm, apex acuminate, base clasping; stipe 0.5-1.5 cm long; spadix green, narrowly long-tapered, 16-26 cm long, 6-8 mm diam. at base, 4-6 mm diam. at apex; ca. 6 flowers per principal spiral, rhombic, slightly longer than broad, sides straight; lateral tepals with inner margin rounded, outer margin angled; stamens not exserted; anthers with thecae elliptic, slightly divaricate; pistil weakly emergent; stigma slitlike.
