    Colombia. Popayan, and Cauca: in thick forests on the eastern slopes of the Cerro Munchique.

    Blooming in March 1884.
    General Description
    Internodes of sympodium about 1 dm [10 cm] long. LEAVES: Petioles terete, overtopping, or a little shorter than, the blade (1.5-1.7 dm [15 - 17 cm] long); geniculum somewhat long; blades punctate below, lanceolate-oblong, rounded below, (or at the bottom), narrowed gradually toward the apex, 1.3-1.5 dm [13 - 15 cm] long, 4-6 cm wide; acumen to 2 cm long, collective vein about 1/5 in from the margin. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle 2.5-3 dm [25 - 30 cm] long; spathe lanceolate-linear, apiculate, 4 cm long, 6-8 mm wide; spadix slender, juliform (or shaped like a catkin), 6-7 cm long, stipitate 2 cm, 3 mm diam. at anthesis. INFRUCTESCENCE: Berries somewhat globose.
