    General Description
    Stem assurgent. LEAVES: Petiole almost equalling blade, 4-5 dm [40 - 50 cm] long, 4-5 mm diam.; geniculum 1.5-2 cm long, obscure; blades subcoriaceous, deep green above, somewhat shining [or clear, transparent], oblong to lanceolate, narrowed gradually toward the apex in an arcuate line, very short-apiculate at the obtuse apex, rounded toward the base; short-cuneate at the base, 3-4 dm [30 - 40 cm] long, 1-1.75 dm [10 - 17.5] wide at the middle or below the middle; basal veins 3 pairs, the outermost slender, running into the marginthe near middle, the innermost thicker, erect, united into a continuous collective vein, joining the upper erect-spreading primary lateral veins 1/3-1/5 of the way in from the margin. INFLORESCENCE: Peduncle a little shorter than the leaf, 4-5 dm [40 - 50 cm] long; spathe linear-lanceolate, cuspidate, very short-decurrent at the base, about 1 dm [10 cm] long, 1.25-1.5 cm wide, mildly narrowed toward the apex; cusp at the highest apex 0.7-0.8 cm long; spadix sessile, slender, violet, to 1.5 dm [15 cm] long, 4-5 mm diam. at the base; ovary oblong-ovoid, crowned with a broadly discoid stigma.
