Distribution

Hylaea: Brit. Guiana (Schomburgk – Herb. Kew); Franz. Guiana, bei Karouany (Sagot n. 612). – Brasilien: Prov. Para (Wallis).

General Description

Foliorum petioli tenues, quam lamina quadruplo longiores 3-4 dm longi, ad tertiam partem usque vaginati, lamina haud peltata oblique elliptico-ovata, basi acuta vel ovata, basi obtusa subtruncata vel leviter cordata aut paullum supra basin peltata, subcucullata (in eodem specimene!), 1-1,5dm longa, 0,7-1,25 dm lata, supra costa atque nervis lateralibus I. pallidus vel argyreis vel rubris exceptis viridis atque maculis paucis parvis irregulariter sparsis notata, subtus pallidior, nervis utrinque 4-5 angulo acuto adscendentibus, inferioribus approxtmatis,superioribus magis remotis, nervum collectivum intimum a margine valde remotum, inferioribus I. cum nervis II. superioribus nervum collectivum alterum margini magis approximatum formantibus. Spathae tubus viridis oblongus, leviter constrictus, circ. 3 cm longus, lamina fere triplo longior, albida, 8 cm longa, circ. 4 cm lata. Spadicis quam spatha brevioris inflorescentia femniea cylindroidea circ. 1,5 cm longa masculae sterili subaequilonga, mascula fertilis quam sterilis triplo longior 6,5- 6 cm assequens. Ovaria stigmate lato coronata.
