Lemma apex entire (1), or dentate (1); 2 -fid (1/1); acute; awned; 1 -awned. Principal lemma awn apical (1), or from a sinus (1). Palea 0.7-0.825-0.9 length of lemma; 2 -veined. Palea keels ciliolate (1), or ciliate (1). Apical sterile florets resembling fertile though underdeveloped.
    Flowers
    Lodicules 2; membranous (1), or fleshy (1); truncate (1/1). Anthers 3. Stigmas 2 (1/1).
    Fruits
    Caryopsis with adherent pericarp; fusiform (1), or ellipsoid (1). Embryo 0.5 length of caryopsis. Hilum punctiform (1/1).
