General Description

A terrestrial plant to 22 cm tall. Stem to about 10 cm long, covered in three obtuse sheaths, 3-10 cm long, bifoliate at the apex. Leaves suberect-spreading, ovate-elliptic, mucronate, 11-13 cm long, 6.5-7 cm wide, glabrous, green with purple spotting. Inflorescence one-flowered, ebracteate; pedicel a little longer than the leaves. Flower 6-7 cm across, covered with purple spotting and stripes. Dorsal sepal broadly ovate, mucronate, about 3.5 cm long, 2.8 cm wide, ciliate, glabrous on both surfaces. Synsepal elliptic, bidentate at the apex, about 4.1 cm long, 2 cm wide, ciliate but glabrous. Petals obliquely subovate-oblong, obtuse-mucronate, about 3.8 cm long, ciliate but glabrous. Lip small, subglobose to slipper-shaped, about 1.6 cm in diameter, glabrous within, the front verruculose. Column short; staminode broadly ovate-orbicular, slightly emarginate at apex, about 5 mm long, 7.5 mm wide.
