Habit
Woody herb to 10 cm high; stems one or several, spreading and ascending
Leaves
Leaves dense, marcescent leaves clothing the stem, grey-green or whitish, oblong, 1–1.5 cm long, 1–3 mm wide, obtuse, the dense tomentum forming a shiny continuous cover
Inflorescences
Capitula in tight terminal clusters; involucre 4–7 mm long; phyllaries white, lanceolate, 3–5 mm long, the outermost pubescent
Florets
Florets pale yellow, 19–20, mostly bisexual but with 1–2 female marginal florets; 2.5–4.5 mm long
Fruits
Achenes cylindric, c. 1 mm long, papillose; pappus 2.5–3.2 mm long, subplumose near apex.
Distribution
N2 not known elsewhere.
Ecology
Altitude range 1900–2050 m.
Note
The protologue states that the capitula are homogamous, but a few female florets are present.
