    Habit
    Very similar to S. cornutum, differing chiefly in the bark of the twigs breaking up into small blackish scales overlying a reddish-brown powdery tissue, in having more scattered glands on the leaf lower surface, and in having 2–4 poculiform (cup-like) glands on each side of the male bracts at the base.
